The US has, from time to time, been struck by terrorists. The terrorists and their loyal supporters have staged attacks several times, attacking major US cities and that of her allies. These include US embassies around the world. As a result, war on terror has been a top priority as it intends to end the alarming levels of insecurity. The war on terrorism has been going on for the longest time. The government spends about a trillion annually in the fight against terrorism. A large amount of money spent on terrorism has raised a debate on whether the GWOT is worthwhile in the first place. War on terrorism is a collective responsibility. No individual can deal with it correctly. It is indeed my deep conviction that the threat of terrorism is worth the large amount of money that is spent on it.
To begin with, when terrorists conduct attacks, their target is to kill innocent people. The lives of all Americans are a top priority. Whenever there are attacks, thousands of lives are lost. People lose close friends and relatives. As a result, they suffer endless torture and trauma. The moment the budget is cut down or eliminated, the capacity of the government to deal with the terrorists will highly depreciate (DeGrasse, 2016). Many attacks can then be planned and executed without the knowledge of the security officers. At this point, the number of people lost in terror-related attacks will skyrocket. This is not what any government should plan for her people.
Besides, whenever there are attacks, a lot of properties are lost. Attacks do not only occur in the American soil. Some occur in American friendly nations and embassies. What follows is the massive destruction of property. To avoid this, the government banks on the annual budget allocation to the military and defense. These are the funds that are used to try and control the terrorism activities.
Sometimes, the attacks cause unnecessary instability. The state of uncertainty is not conducive to the economic growth of any country. The moment a seizure occurs in a state in the US, many economic activities will cease. The revenue that gets collected from such activities naturally depletes. The country will degenerate as it records low economic growth rates.
GLOT is also a scheme by the US to protect her interests globally. The global interests range from diplomats, business people to trade partners. All these categories, together with many others, are essential for the prosperity and posterity of the country. As a nation, the US is represented by diplomats in all corners of the world. These are American citizens.
In most cases, they are unfairly targeted by terrorist groups. The same applies to the American businessmen and even trading partners together with other interests. If the government does not go on its way to do all it takes to protect these, then there is no even need for the existence of such persons and institutions. The use of such large amounts of money to control Al Qaeda and ISIS/ISIL is highly justified.

War on terrors has been fought from all fronts by all institutions and special agents in all fields and countries. The US government has deployed and experimented with the massive military in affected areas. At the same time, the US seeks the services of special agents and institutions like The NSA (National Security Administration), NGO (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency), and the NRO (National Reconnaissance Organization), the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). While the full military is characterized by heavy military machinery, personnel presence, huge armored tank divisions, aircraft carriers, bombers, fighter aircraft, and nuclear weapons, specialized agencies like the FBI are usually smaller in the constitution. They may act more swiftly and thus comes with several advantages. This has spurred a debate on which way to go the fight against terrorism.
Ordinarily, the use of special agents and institutions is less expensive. Unlike the military, where the state moves around a large number of people and machinery, the specialized agents need only a working unit. The lesser the number of people involved, the lower the budget, and hence the less the cost (Lucius& Rietjens, 2016). In many other cases, the military can be a subject of compromise. It should be noted that the military is such a massive body with departments, sections, and subsections. No one can monitor the activities of each main in the military forever. They sometimes fall victim to human error, fear, love, and feelings. As a result, they have sometimes launched and led failed operations. The same may not apply to individual agents. These are few highly trained, and skilled individuals with their loyalty and commitment tried, tested, monitored, and mentored. The likelihood to compromise is most unlikely. Israel remains a vital ally of the US in the East. It is the gateway to the East. For that reason, it will not be a good idea to withdraw financial and military aid to the East Asian country. The Middle East is well known for terrorist attacks, religious radicalization, and faith extremism (Kamrava, 2018). It is, therefore, doubtful that the US will find a suitable replacement for Israel suppose the US withdraws all the support and interests.
Conceding to the demands of high profile terrorists in the region will not save anything. They will think that they have emerged victorious. Withdrawing military support will as well expose Israel to her enemies in the area. It will not be a surprise to see nations taking revenge over the same, thinking it is their time to shine. Putting an ally in danger5 translates into endangering your people. The move can then influence even more violence in the future. Lastly, Israel shares a long history with the US. There are so many US citizens of Jewish origin. Protecting Israel is just, therefore, synonymous with doing the same in the US. Public opinion will remain in favor of financial and military assistance. Any non-US ally who wants to cause pain to the US may also find its way in targeting Israel. It is, therefore, entirely justified for the US to maintain the friendship, military, and financial support to the East Asian country.

Global War on Terrorism is a unique one. It has caused the US more than 1 trillion USD. The majority of Americans are anxious about the future of their country in terms of terrorism and security. A recent poll established that 71% of Americans believe that acts of terrorism are very likely to occur shortly. The fear is whether or not the US will win the war against terrorism
Indeed, the fight against terrorism will be won. But it will take more than just military might to do so. The US needs to integrate and use many other methods like mandated concessions, negotiation, and compromise (Gorka, 2016). Many Americans believe its time the government tries some non-military ways to curb the menace of terrorism. The government should, for instance, start negotiating. After 9/11, for example, many directed their war fears to Iraq. The Colin Powell purported theory of Saddam Hussein was never established. The level of tongue lashing was destructive. The relationship largely shrunk, and terrorism dramatically increased. To win the war against terrorism, there is a need to adopt less dramatic methods.
Attempts by the US to restore peace in many parts of the world have recorded little success. There are goodwill and intention, but the result is an attainted image and failed operations. If experiences in Sri Lanka, Ireland, and Colombia are anything to go by, then there is a lot to learn for the future. Instead of restoring peace, more lives were lost, more properties were destroyed. Terrorist attacks escalated this time round on the US military camps (Mueller & Stewart, 2016). Seizures did not stop as intentioned. The locals lived in more fear than ever before. The number of war victims significantly increased. The US military took a better part of the blame. These are not what needs to be heard. It is not about quitting; it is all about changing the tact for the same enemy. GLOT is surely winnable.

A lot has been done to curb these increasing differences. Muslims are expected to increase to 35% of the world’s population in 20 years. With Muslim being a global religion, the differences arelikely to spread to the world yonder and cause instability.
With the reducing levels of racism, it is predicted that there will be lower levels of aggression based on the race. There is an increasingly growing democracy in many parts of the world. Racial differences are frequently reducing. Many countries are granting more political and economic powers to diverse groups of such settings. Increased global inclusivity is surely reducing racial tensions, thus a promise to peace and stability. These trends point out the possibility of winning the war against terrorists.
