Since the builders have the highest number of members, the colony agreed that three members would equal to one member from other groups. It means that one house for each type of group of workers must get completed, and the person with the first vote will be the first to move in (Habermas 2012). Therefore, the persons with the first vote from the scientists, entrepreneurs, caterers, administrators, and three builders will be the first to move in once the first seven houses get completed. Through the agreed order, it will ensure that there is equality since each group will get a home for their member with the first vote. Thus, the conflict will get minimized.
I have shown how this distinction between ‘simple’ and ‘reasonable’ pluralism allows Rawls to present as a moral exigency what is in fact a political decision. It serves to avoid acknowledging the antagonistic nature of the political and the fact that no regime, not even a liberal one, can pretend to have a privileged claim on rationality. Entertainers who will be working mostly in the evenings will be responsible for social activities and educational activities for all members of the colony.
