Abstract
The man issue that affects modern American society today is the increasing rate of the aging population. It is based on the growing number of individuals demanding aging facilities. There have been little done to ensure that communities take care of the elderly ones in the most appropriate way. According to the researches carried out on the health issues of their aging population, there is a high level of deficiencies in the facilities that are needed to suit the needs of elderly individuals. This discussion focuses on the identification of the problems and the solutions to healthcare for the elderly. It is based on the development of a proposal that enables it to win a $100,000 grant from the government of the USA. The pan is, therefore, to make the population of the aging group to increase and expand the lifespan of t human through proper healthcare practices and maintenances of the elderly.

Community Outreach Program Proposal: Eldercare
They love to work in my community dates back during my childhood, especially the period I involved myself in a volunteering program to take care of the elderly in my village. It included at least a one time a month visit to an old house and assisting them with the home works and some house chores. This led to me developing a keen interest in the elderly, especially in the effort to ensure that their health and social life is based on a healthy lifestyle. I have worked for many voluntary organizations and other civic engagement not only in my community but also to the communities around which diverse from my own. The view of the younger generation towards the elderly has also been a contributing factor in the deteriorating health of other aged individuals. This discussion focuses on the evaluations of the condition of the elderly in contemporary American society.

In most cases, it becomes difficult for family members to divert their selves in the process of meeting the needs of the elderly. The high aging rate of the USA is attributed to the child boom program that was present after the Second World War. The population growth of the elderly has always been affected by factors like diseases or disabilities. This factor calls for the necessity to ensure proper care and maintenance. It requires a regular checkup and the ability to ensure that the community understands the needs of the aging population. The problem that faces society is the lack of understanding of the needs of the elderly has contributed a lot to poor health and the inability of the community to take care of them. Among the common problems that tend to be presented include dehydration a, lack of exercise, poor diet, and the inability to engage in a meaningful activity meant to prolong the lives of the elderly. Creating awareness regarding the behavioral patterns change can lead to them being abused by those who take care of them. This unawareness of the population about the needs of the elderly is likely to increase the number of elders affected by the lifestyle of chronic diseases. These are in addition to negligence or abuse, making the elder care to be an essential need of the society as a way of improving the well-being of the community.
It is important to note that a large section of the elders faces a high level of the burden of disability, morbidity, and mortality. The leading cause of the disparities, in this case, tends to be multifactorial and myriad. This makes elder care to be comprehensive and multidirectional. It requires the ability to deal with every aspect of the elder needs, especially those about the life-threatening condition like a diet. The care must also consider the societal issues and concerns like racial, gender, and ethical and age-related disparities. They are factors that have been ignoring d I the specific studies of the elderly care. For instance, it is often noted that the elderly from the minority groups do not get or utilize healthcare requirements and facilities such as technological procedures, rehabilitations, intensive hospitals care and care for the preventative measures of the common diseases and conditions. Universal health coverage has not been able to address the concerns of elderly care. It creates a necessity to improvise the welfare of the elderly in the most appropriate way.
Political and Community Organizations Addressing the Issue
The policymakers, especially the congress from Republicans, democrats, and the independence members have taken keen consideration in addressing the issue. They have always recognized that the elderly in America face a high level of health concerns that require to be discussed most appropriately. He needs lifelong care, and the professional know-how presents the needs to ensure that they receive the proper care they need. Despite the existence of both the social and the political concerns of changing the healthcare provider to the elderly, the first approach used by the political class is only to encourage and promise rather than to mandate the funding of the home-based care for the elderly. The concern has not been given much priority by the political class, making the elderly to be vulnerable to health issues and a shortened lifestyle. The effort needed from the political class includes the design of policies that ensure home-based care for the elderly group without limitations. This can be achieved by making it a priority concern in congress a which compels the department of health to ensure proper care given to the aged individuals in the community.
Democrats have always been debating on the efforts to expand Medicare access. However, they have failed to discuss the care coverage for the elderly population. Moreover, President Trump has promoted the development of policies that are against the opinion to expand the health insurance coverage, a move that places the elderly out of the picture in ensuring a proper lifestyle. The Republican members of congress have recommended cutting that is likely to undermine the home-based care implementations. This proves the unwillingness of any political group to address the issue of elderly health care coverage. The process for coverage and directing the care needs of the elderly becomes one of the problems that have very little weight in American society today. It requires a means of ensuring that the members of the political class and the community, in general, taking a precaution in ensuring that there is always coordination in the provision of the healthcare service to the elderly. The impact of little elder care includes the development of chronic lifestyle diseases, high mortality rate, and general negativity in the well-being of the aged in American society.

Discussion of the Sources
The elderly population tends to suffer from several complications and complex health problems that often affect their healthy way of life. With proper care, the solution to the difficulties can be found, primarily through addressing the specific health issues that are common among the elderly. According to Coe (2018), a critical care-related issue that affects elderly patients involves long-term multi-morbidity management. The issue also ends to have an impact on the practitioners and the entire society. The process consists in ensuring a decisive approach that determines the level of and the extent to which the elderly receive the care needed to keep them safe and free from the pressing environmental issues.
Further researches show that the elderly have always been victims of mistreatment by the nursing community that is supported to take care of them. In this case, they remain unattended, and therefore, disposes them to desperate living conditions. This is also true in the case of the family members whose attitudes towards the old always show negativity. Further studies by Gourin et al., (2018b) indicate that the annual income, functional impairment, post-self-related health race, and net wealth are among the predisposing factors for the elderly illness for hospitalization. This study involved a total of 10,000 participates between age 60 years old and 105 years, both male and female. The percentage of whites and 615 were female elderlies. The research also covered all regions of American society with more stress being placed on the ethnic background, age, occupation, past relationships, and the mental capacity of the subject. This made it easy to evaluate the reasons for exposure to mistreatment as a way of providing an opportunity to find a solution to the increased suffering the elderly undergo in their daily lives.

There are specific community programs that have taken a responsibility to address the issue of the elderly in my community. One of the programs includes the organization concerned with proper nutrition for the elderly. This group has been vital in ensuring that the elders in the city get access to good food and have a well-balanced diet as a way of ensuring the health improvement process. The organization Nutrition for the Elderly organization has contributed to ensuring that the elderly control the amount of alcohol consumed and increased the intake of water.
Moreover, the concerns have always been about the control of chronic diseases by maintaining a BMI that is manageable. It is a way of ensuring further functionality and control of the elder’s intake of drugs. The organization visits the elderly regularly and teaches the caregivers on the specific methods of dealing with the diets.
The other organization that has been crucial in improving the welfare of the elderly in the community is the American department of health. Though the health department, there have been special programs that help to support the needs of the elderly. Among them include equipping the health facilities with the elder-friendly machines and ensuring that there are nurses assigned the role of taking care of the hospitalized elderly in the friendliest way. They monitor the progress and the response of the elderly to treatment. Moreover, they ensure that they receive the common drugs that are meant to ensure proper maintenance of the health of the elderly.
My Community Engagement Proposal
My main project as a person who has worked in the community is to build a nursing home for the elderly. It is a facility that admits all the elderly and provides daycare and sometimes boarding for the elderly who do not have someone at home to meet their needs. The project intends to provide a conducive environment for adults beyond 65 old through a process that keep them engaged with activities of health.
Among the services that I intend to provide in the facility include maintenance of chronic diseases. This includes ensuring that their facility keeps a record of every individual with any health condition, monitor their progress, and ensure that they take the prescriptions as described by their respective physicians. The department in the facility is also meant to rehabilitate the individual elderly that have been addicted to alcohol. This will help them to maintain a proper lifestyle and beat the odds of dehydration the health department in the facility ensures that the elderlies do regular exercise to keep them fit and remove the stress boredom.
Another section of the facility will ensure that the elderly get access to social life. This involves organizing sports for the elderly and allow them to interact with each other in a safe and conducive environment. It is meant to increase their lifespan and remove the stressful life they would have been in if the facility does not exist. It will also help the elderly to experience love again by interacting with individuals to which they share the same interest.
In that facility, a significant focus will be the diet. It would ensure that they get all the nutrients in the right amount and avoid over consumption of too many sugary foods, this will prevent them from developing conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Diet checkup and the maintenance of the correct BMI is a significant concern for facility management. Since dehydration is a problem I to individuals at that age, the focus will also to ensure that they take the correct amount of water and avoid consumption of too much alcohol. It will help to ensure that the lifestyle is adequate. Other provisions that I intend to set in the nursing home include a boarding facility with friendly types of equipment for the elderly. It is a process of ensuring comfort to elderly individuals
The $100,000 grant, if given, I would ensure that I improve the capacity of the already existing nursing home in the community, especially space and the boarding structure. The highest percentage of the grant will be directed towards improving the facility and upgrading the old structures. It will also fund the replacement of the old equipment and falsities to create a comfortable area for the elderly. The facility was built by the contribution of the well-wishers through my campaign to improve the living standards of the elderly. However, the problem has been the difficulties in getting enough nurses to nurse the elderly. Given the grant, I would ensure that the facility is well maintained and enough nurses specialized in supporting the needs of the facility. The ration of the nurses to the elderly persons will be one to five, a process that makes it easy to attend to the needs of each elderly individual. A portion of the grant will, therefore, be directed towards paying the salaries for the nurses and increasing the capacity to which the facility can contain.
I appeal to the government is, therefore, to come into my support and help me improve the care needed for the elders. This care is based on a support program that helps to increase the lifespan of elderly individuals through a reduction of lifestyle diseases. I need the grant to ensure that the lives of the elderly are improved and that the facility can be an eye-opener to all societies of America in the process of taking care of the elderly.
Conclusion
It is high time that the government takes severe measures in ensuring that the elderly are taken care of. The increase in the aging population call for the necessity to provide facilities that can support the needs and demand s of the elderly. An increase in the mortality rate and the development of health complications among the aging population become among the reasons for the control and of the mistreatment. Through the provision off the grant by the government, I will ensure that the facilities for the aged are provided, and the nursing home in my community works adequately. It is necessary for the sense that it helps to increase the lifespan of the elderly.
